During your childhood, you may have experienced trauma of one sort or another: physical, sexual or emotional abuse; a war; a serious accident, or the death of a parent or other family member.

Any of these things can be devastating to a child. But sometimes even years after the actual trauma occurred, many adults still find they are affected by what happened to them as children.
