Pathways to Counselling – Youth (PTC – Youth) is a counselling program for Youth with Autism ages 12-17 years. Developed in response to the need for accessible, specialized, and developmentally appropriate mental health services, the program was created to help address gaps in counselling support for youth with autism.
We believe youth with autism deserve access to mental health services that are accessible, inclusive, and responsive to their unique strengths, goals, and support needs.
We value neurodiversity and recognize that youth with autism have diverse identities, communication styles, experiences, and ways of engaging with the world. Through a neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed, and youth-centered approach, we work collaboratively with youth to support emotional well-being, build coping skills, strengthen resilience, and navigate life’s challenges.
We are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive counselling environment where youth feel heard, valued, and empowered to participate meaningfully in their counselling journey.
At PTC-Youth, the youth is the primary client. We promote autonomy, self-determination, and choice while working collaboratively with caregivers and other support, when appropriate, to help youth work toward their goals and enhance their well-being.
Family Service Toronto is an Ontario Autism Program (OAP) eligible service provider.
Staff can provide service in English and Sinhala. Occasionally we may provide service in other languages. When you call for an appointment, please let us know about your language requirements at intake.
