Queer and Connected
Queer and Connected, a 3-year peer support program for 2SLGBTQ+ youth aged 16-29 at David Kelley Services and Family Service Toronto, has officially wrapped up at the end of June 2023.
Since 2020, Queer and Connected program has provided a welcoming space for 2SLGBTQ+ youth to meet, connect, reflect, and form meaningful relationships. In a time when physically gathering was impossible, Queer and Connected’s virtual groups created connection from isolation. In doing so, they grew relationships across the GTA and beyond. Through a global pandemic and stressful times, Q&C has created and held space for its participants to find and be in community, as well as their authentic selves in a virtual space made by and for 2SLGBTQ+ folks.
As the program closed, we now celebrate three years of cherished moments, shared joy and heartbreak, the birth of new friendships, and the growth of a vibrant community.
To continue its support of the 2STNB+ youth community, Family Service Toronto’s David Kelley Services introduces two “new” peer groups dedicated to 2 Spirit, Trans, and Non-binary+ (2STNB+) youth aged 16-29: 2STNB+ Connect and Art in Trans*ition. Groups information is available on Workshops, Groups and Events page under David Kelley Services workshops and on Instagram.
Both groups will be facilitated by Q&C mentor Keith, and will continue until March 31st, 2024. For more information/registration to groups connect with Keith: [email protected]
