FST marks day to end poverty
October 1, 2025
FST and Campaign 2000 will participate in a virtual National Dialogue on Poverty to mark the United Nations International Day for the Eradication of Poverty on Friday (Oct. 17).
This year’s UN theme, “Ending social and institutional maltreatment by ensuring respect and effective support for families,” is a call to action to confront stigma, discrimination, and inequity to ensure that no one is left behind.
The national dialogue from noon to 2 p.m. EDT will feature a panel discussion and bring together community leaders, advocates, and policymakers to explore pathways from poverty to well-being, rooted in dignity, equity, and justice.
More than 45 organizations have endorsed a briefing note and template letter on ending poverty to help strengthen collective advocacy across the country.
