VAW clients join GBV campaign
November 24, 2025
Tuesday (Nov. 25) marks the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence – a global campaign which aims to raise awareness and advocate for change in combating violence against women and girls in all its forms. The annual campaign ends Dec.10, International Human Rights Day.
On Dec. 6, the campaign will also mark the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women which honours the 14 young women who were murdered Dec. 6, 1989 at Polytechnique Montréal and others who have experienced or who have died as a result of gender-based violence.
This year, FST’s Violence Against Women team’s theme is “Things That Carried Me Through.” Eachday of the campaign they will share through our social media channels powerful messages and images from survivors – reminders of what sustained them, what held them up, what helped them move forward.
As FST continues to engage, fight against violence, and advocate for systemic changes, the team will uplift the voices of our clients who have lived experience, and to support them in sustaining a life free from threats and acts of violence.
